Spotlight On… Taryn Rigotti, Digital Designer: digiVOX

Taryn RigottidigiVOX introduces you to yet another of our shiny thinkers and noise makers. Under the spotlight is Taryn Rigotti: WOW enthusiast and Digital Designer at digiVOX. Here’s Taryn’s take on the world that is Digital!

digiVOX: Who are you?

Rigotti: I’m a young, energetic, ambitious and motivated, computer obsessed, graphics designer.

digiVOX: What excites you about this industry?

Rigotti: It allows me to celebrate the union of all my professional talents.

digiVOX: If you absolutely had to choose between having smelly breath or stinky feet, what would it be?

Rigotti: I’d definitely choose stinky feet as you have the option to hide it. Smelly breath is more difficult to hide, especially since I talk so much. I can never keep my mouth shut!

digiVOX: Complete the sentence:

My biggest talent is… Not being intimidated by much.

My worst attribute is… Spending faaaaaaaarrrr too much time on the PC!

I cannot live without … The internet.

digiVOX: What do you do for fun/unwind?

Rigotti: Turn people into sheep in World of Warcraft.

digiVOX: How would you describe the consumers in the “Attention Age”?

Rigotti: They are very difficult to reach. Everyone is constantly bombarded with advertising which they mostly ignore, especially on TV and Radio. Thus, the best way to get through to them these days is on the net where people spend most of their time and where it can become more interactive.

digiVOX: Do you ever worry that a solar flare could short circuit every electronic entity in the world and  make your line of work obsolete?

Rigotti: I have never really thought of that, but I’m sure I would be in about the same amount of panic as I am when my internet connection goes down :)

digiVOX: Any predictions for what’s next in the online world?

Rigotti: The future of the web is going to be far more social and personal by using devices such as web based mobile phones and technologies such as geo-location. The web is no longer merely a means of acquiring information, but is fast becoming an information highway based on social communication, because competing search engines, social networks and new technologies are being forced to integrate with each other in a way never before seen. For example: Microsoft search engine embedded in Facebook and Google searches relevant to your exact location.

digiVOX: What would make you join a particular Facebook Page? Follow a Twitter account?

Rigotti: If I found something amusing enough or strongly believed in what that page stood for or was about.

digiVOX: Which Facebook pages and/or Twitter accounts are your favourites?

Rigotti: I mostly follow pages that provide the latest in music, movies and books.

digiVOX: Any advice for those considering investing in online marketing?

Rigotti: It is definitely the way to go. TV, Radio and Print is fast becoming outdated. People are bored of static advertising. Online is the way of the future and it is just so much more diverse and interesting.

digiVOX: What is one thing that most people don’t know about you?

Rigotti: I’m actually quite sensitive.
